Here is an excerpt from my new release A Haught Date

He stopped and peered around. “Your room is cute. A big Cabbage Patch Kid fan, huh?”

“My mother left the room—pretty much—the way it was when I moved out for college, but she brought all my dolls from when I was a child back. I don’t stay here much.” What was it about this guy? She’d gone from feeling like her head was going to explode to laughing in a few minutes.

“Well, my whole family has seen you, and they think you’re my boyfriend, so I guess you get your way. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be my loyal boyfriend. Do you think you can do that?” she asked, hoping she wasn’t giving too much away with her tone.

His eyes narrowed. “I happily accept this mission. Loyalty is something that goes with being a boyfriend, in my opinion, but I understand why you felt you had to include that in the description.”

His face was full of concern, but she didn’t want that look to turn to pity, so she just shrugged. He moved closer and reached his hand up to tuck her hair behind her ear. She could smell the spicy scent of his cologne, and it took her memory right back to the moment she was on her knees. Remembering the feel of the smooth head of his cock pushing between her lips and the sweet yet salty taste of his arousal on her tongue, she had to bite back a moan.

“I’m a great listener,” he said, his mouth so close she could feel his warm breath caressing her ear.

“I know you are.” Gemmi pulled back, amazed at how much she wanted to believe in him.

He studied her as if he was memorizing her face, then softly tugged her closer. His kiss was slow and lingering like he was trying to gather information out of her through her lips. The kiss grew in intensity. She grabbed his hair, holding him close and reveling in the way his lips tugged at hers and demanded more while still so gentle. “I think there’s more you haven’t told me. I’m happy to listen, if you want to tell me.”

She could only nod as he stroked her cheek with his thumb. He’d be an awesome interrogator.

“My cousin who slept with my boyfriend and started this whole fiasco is actually here today, along with everyone else who wants to meet my new boyfriend. It was just supposed to be True here tonight, but they all probably think they’re getting a bonus meeting you sooner than they thought they would.” She didn’t want to look at him, but she really had no choice. He was still holding her in his arms and stroking her back like a pampered pet. She loved being petted, but this whole situation was so far out of her norm she couldn’t enjoy it.

“Well, if they want to meet your boyfriend and you want them to get to know me, then let’s do it,” Camden said with a sweet smile. Gemmi could barely look away. This man was absolutely gorgeous and kind. An unbelievable combination. “I know people are speculating on what we’re doing,” Camden said, waggling his brows.

“You’re probably right.” She hoped her voice sounded stronger to his ears than it did to hers.

He put his hand on the small of her back and guided her out of the room, and the warmth from his fingertips spread throughout her body. She felt goose bumps from that little touch, which made her giddy as a schoolgirl on the last day of school. She wouldn’t have chosen Camden, but maybe she should get a little gift for True to thank her for her selection.

“Funny seeing you here,” a husky voice said as they left her room.

And just like that, Gemmi’s good mood disappeared, and her headache started a slow escalation again. She turned and saw her beautiful red-haired cousin she’d just spoke about leaning on the opposite wall, taking in the scene and clearly disapproving.

Did you like that? I hope so Gemmi and Camden have a sexy, funny story that I loved writing and hope you enjoy.

  2. I think I had the stalkiest date , one time went out on a date as a favor to a friend and the guy preceded to tell me on the date how much he loved me already and that if I didn’t go out with him again that he would crash his car into a tree and haunt me forever. Needless to say I never went out with him again.

  4. Early happy birthday. I once met my husband in a bar wearing only a sexy teddy under a trench coat. He didn’t know it at the time and when he asked me if I wanted to take my coat off, I showed him what I was wearing. That was the shortest “date” we ever had. LOL
Thanks for being part of this fun hop and for the chance to win.

  5. First here you go, this drink is pure awesome.
Rim the glass with a mix of :
    1 lime wedge
    1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
    Pinch of kosher salt
    Drink Ingredients
    Combine:
    5 brandied cherries
    3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
    Ice
    1 1/2 ounces tequila
    3/4 ounce of triple sec

My worst date was the last one I had before I met the hubby. He took me to this restaurant that looked like it was made for hunters. Animal heads all over the walls and nothing but meat on the menu, I am a vegetarian, lol. -_-
Luckily I found my soulmate after. 🙂 Happy Early Birthday!

    • You, my friend, are full of awesomesauce…thanks for the recipe and for your worst date…I do enjoy meat but I don’t think I’d like the faces looking at me… 😦

  6. I had a fixup in college where the guy was so dull that when I went to the ladies’ room, I actually considered climbing out the window. Only my fear of heights stopped me. I think he kind of knew, since he looked relieved when I came back. Good thing I didn’t, since he lived in my dorm the following year (and was still pretty annoying)…anyway, happy birthday!

  7. Most awkward… In college I met a guy at a party, he asked me out on a date and I agreed. I met another guy, same night, who also asked me out for a different night, and I agreed. Imagine my surprise when I showed up for date #1 only to find out date #2 was his roommate!

  8. Thank you for sharing that excerpt with us!! I really loved reading it & i’m adding the book to my TBR list! =)

Hmm,.. I don’t really date cuz i’m a super shy nerdy girl lol. But there was this one time my friend convinced me to go out with another friend, & it just felt weird & awkward. I don’t even count it as a date(He did though). He took me to a casino,.. now i’m not even a gambler & I don’t really like to gamble & everyone knows that, but he insisted we go there. While we were there, I spot my mother!! She didn’t see me, so I spent alot of the time looking over my shoulder & avoiding areas incase my mother walked near, which was a few areas!! Finally conviced him to leave after like a half hr & he drove me home & tried to makeout with me in front of my house,… as my mother was pulling up! Awkward! Yeah it was just a disaster all around lol. All I wanted to do was go get something to eat or to see a movie, but apparently I didn’t have a vote in that lol.

Thank you for having this giveaway!!

I hope you have a great week! =)

  9. In High School, I had just started dating this guy. We went out on a date to a club at the beach and on the way home we ran out of gas……I mean REALLY ran out of gas — we had to walk 3 miles to a pay phone (yes.,..it was THAT long ago) and have my Dad having to come out with a couple of gallons of gas at 11pm …and I drove home with my Dad, since, as he told my date, “At least I won’t strand her in the middle of nowhere.”

Needless to say, that was our last date…the guy was too embarrassed to even speak with me…

    Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

    • Love derailed due to the need for a gallon of gas. I know at the time you were probably upset about that…but I bet that guy always went on a date with at least Half of his tank full. That was a good life lesson…lol…

Thanks for sharing…and for the follow 🙂
